Auditions

Auditions are every May. Voces Angelorum is a volunteer auditioned group of women dedicated to masterfully performing classical chamber music of all eras, including contemporary compositions.

Singers pay a fee of $60.00 twice a year, August and January. No one is turned away because of need. Scholarships are available. Print music is provided by and remains property of Voces Angelorum. Auditions are every May. I provide an audition form at the time of the audition which asks for contact information and your musical history.


I ask that you prepare for the following:

One selection that shows the beauty of your voice. I am not looking for pyrotechnics like 'Rejoice Greatly' from The Messiah. I am interested in hearing your best tone in a piece that you are very comfortable singing.

If you are interested in small ensemble (duet, trio, quartet) or solo singing as the need arises, then I ask for a second selection that is more complex, possibly in another language, that shows me the extent of your musicianship and solo instrument.

I may vocalize you to hear your highs and low notes and locate the most beautiful part of your range. I may ask you to learn a new warm-up exercise and modify it in various ways. My auditions are considered mini-voice lessons.
